Mother House – Tee Up For Tikes Charity Golf Tournament
Fisher Auto in Boulder, Colorado is one of the many local businesses that are contributing to the Mother House Charity Golf Event to be held on Wednesday July 27th at the Coal Creek Golf Course in Louisville. Fisher Auto is responsible for donating 16 gift certificates for a free oil change that will be part of the raffle prize drawings for the event. For $125 per player or $475 for a foursome, participants can play golf, enter contests and play to win great prizes, all while supporting the fundraising efforts of the Mother House.
What is Mother House?
Mother House is a non-profit organization in Boulder, Colorado which has been providing a safe haven for pregnant women who are at risk since 1982. Primarily funded by Christian organizations, it supports and participates in sharing Christian values and philosophies, although they do not turn anyone away because of religion or race. Mother House is committed to protecting women and their unborn children by providing a nurturing and loving temporary home, and encouraging them to build the confidence and the skills necessary for a successful future. Located in downtown Boulder, the Mother House is run by an in-house manager, and can accommodate up to seven women and several babies. Residents who stay at Mother House come from all over the U.S. and abroad, but primarily from Colorado. They can come at any time during their pregnancy and stay up to 3 months after the birth of their baby.
What Services Does Mother House Provide?
The goal of Mother House is not only to provide a safe and nurturing environment for women and their unborn babies, but also to teach mothers the life skills they will need to be successful after their babies are born, regardless if they decide to keep their babies or place them up for adoption. Residents are expected to live cooperatively with one another and contribute to the maintenance of the household by taking on daily chores, paying rent, and getting a part time job. The staff at Mother House gives the women information on how to connect with social services they may need such as pre-natal and birthing health care, Medicaid, and WIC. They also help residents look for permanent housing, daycare facilities, and baby items so they are ready to live and care for their babies on their own after they leave. Mother House provides these services help build the confidence and skills the women need to get through their pregnancies as well as be productive members of society once they leave Mother House.

By taking part in the July 27th Golf Event, supporters can help Mother House continue its service to women in the community.
