What Is the Honda Ridgeline Maintenance Schedule?

Your Honda Ridgeline maintenance schedule is a series of inspection and replacement services that occur at specific intervals. Honda carefully designed this schedule to keep your truck running smoothly on the Denver and Arvada roads. However, different drivers have different needs. If you really put your car through its paces with heavy towing and strenuous work, consider scheduling your maintenance services a little sooner. Just ask our service centers for advice! Below, you’ll find general guidelines for the Honda Ridgeline:

  • Oil Change: Ridgeline oil type may vary slightly depending on trim and model year, but conventional oil should be changed every 5,000 miles or so. If you use a synthetic oil, you can usually wait until the 7,500-mile marker.
  • Engine Air Filter/Dust and Pollen Filter: Both filters can be swapped out every 15,000 miles or so. Engine air filters can be replaced every other oil change if you’re using synthetic oil.
  • Engine Coolant: Coolant is vital for your engine, and your coolant levels need to be flushed every 45,000 miles or so. Be sure to check your manual to find out the right type of coolant for your vehicle.
  • Transmission Fluid: Transmission fluid wears down over time, so you’ll need a fluid flush and replacement. Plan for a Honda Ridgeline transmission fluid change every 50,000 to 75,000 miles.
  • Brake Fluid: Brake fluid has a long lifespan, but it needs to be refreshed periodically. Expect a brake fluid replacement at the 90,000-mile marker.
  • Timing Belt: Your timing belt is a vital, but overlooked component in your powertrain. Timing belts tend to last around 105,000 miles before needing a replacement.

Honda Ridgeline Oil Type and Capacity

Now you know the answer to the question, “When should I change my oil in my Honda Ridgeline?” But, what type of oil should you choose? Most new Honda Ridgeline models use OE 0W-20 Synthetic Motor Oil for the best results, and you’ll need around 5.7 quarts of oil to fill your reservoir completely. While most Aurora drivers know that low oil levels can be a huge problem on the road, overfilling your reservoir can also cause issues with gaskets and seals.
